Marshal Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a marshal for the 2026 NYC Dyke March! We appreciate your willingness to devote time and energy to help make the march safe. This year's march will be on Saturday, June 27th! We welcome all dykes to marshal with us, including those who may require accessibility accommodations. Marshals play a vital role in keeping marchers safe from traffic, police, homophobes, transphobes, and counterprotests. As an unpermitted protest march, there is always a possibility of arrest, though no marshal has ever been arrested at Dyke March. This form will ask about your comfort level, accessibility needs, and any other concerns so we can make every effort to assign you a role that works for you. Please note: All marshals are required to wear masks during the march. Training is mandatory for all marshals, including returning marshals. Training dates and registration will be shared once finalized. If you have any questions or concerns about the sign-up process or your responsibilities as a marshal, please don't hesitate to contact us at nycdykemarch@gmail.com or on Instagram at @nycdykemarch. We look forward to having you :) In solidarity, The 2026 NYC Dyke March Planning Committee

Are you interested in being an Accessibility Marshal? *
This would involve assisting marchers who use wheelchairs or need other accessibility accommodations to fully participate in the march or helping to coordinate these efforts. This does not guarantee that you will be an accessibility marshal, just that you are open to it. Accessibility marshaling is open to people of all ability levels, including those who use wheelchairs- we will do our best to accommodate you. Please note: Accessibility trainings will occur for 30 minutes after each marshal training. Accessibility marshals must be present for both the general marshal training and the thirty minute accessibility training afterwards.
Yes, I will stay for 30 minutes after my chosen training to be trained in accessibility
No, I'm not interested in being an accessibility marshal
Are you interested in being a part of Troll Patrol? *
Troll Patrol is a roving group of marshals who work to ensure the safety and well-being of all marchers, with a special focus on protecting BIPOC, immigrant, and trans folx. Given our theme this year and the current social and political climate, this role is particularly important in the event of escalations or counter-protests. Troll Patrol marshals may need to engage in charged conversations and directly address individuals who are behaving inappropriately or causing distress to marchers. Indicating your interest does not guarantee that you will be a Troll Patrol, just that you are open to it! An additional online de-escalation training will be required. Troll Patrol must attend both the general marshal training and the de-escalation training.
