A movement data and global data mapping project [1,2,3] to have better statistics about how and where people are engaging in the Wikimedia Movement ecosystem [4] and where those signals are increasing or decreasing comparatively. Aiming to build a shared understanding of our best presence and growth metrics in our Wikiverse for understanding our movement ecosystem spaces of readers, editors, program & event organizing, affiliates, & grantees against population metrics (population, internet users, freedom, and access).

We are building a tool that will allow us to continuously capture data from all the tools we use to measure statistics and metrics for our activities and programs, as well as statistics from Wikimedia projects, and track and evaluate them over time. For the creation of the tool, we secured funding from a grant aimed at supporting the growth of the organization's capacities. We are behind the analytical part, we plan to complete it in August 2023.

The Foundation Global Advocacy team launched a public mapping project to collect all initiatives and tools that have been developed at the local level across Wikimedia projects, and make them easily accessible and available to the movement at large. Crowdsourcing this information will allow us to support our community better, thereby improving Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects’ protection against disinformation. We need your help to do so. If you are aware of an initiative, tool, training, or other form of community engagement around misinformation, disinformation, or information integrity, please let us know.

We are currently in the mapping process - we've had many conversations with folks across the movement and have compiled the resources they shared. NEXT we will share them (and we need help/input on how/where to share and host these learning materials); THEN we will identify a few of the tools or programmes that we came across and try to replicate these at scale to better counter disinformation (we will need folks to dedicate time to help is scale some of these selected projects).

From August to December 2021, the Art+Feminism leadership team (Mohammed Sadat Abdulai, Amber Berson, Melissa Tamani, Kira Wisniewski, Nina Yeboah) took an organizational pause on all regularly scheduled programmatic activities to prioritize creating internal anti-oppression policies and mechanisms. This, in a way, became our programming. The leadership team became deeply engaged in this work by: participating in ongoing meetings, readings and discussions, working through past trauma, examining how white supremacy/Anglo Saxon practices perpetuate in our everyday work culture (such as sense of urgency and centering/overrepresenting U.S. culture), and creating operational definitions of concepts like equity and racism. We specifically focused on developing an anti-racism policy to be implemented across the organization and inform new work culture practices rooted in restorative justice. We do not want to have just words on a page, but rather move Art+Feminism toward a cultural shift with established policies and protocols that help the organization be more consistent with its values. We also envision regular org-wide trainings in the future to help us all be in alignment with this work. This is important and hard work that takes time. As a team, we believe that we are a stronger organization now that we have the anti-racism policy and equity statement in place. We are committed to continuing on this trajectory as these two protocols are the first steps to sustainable change. We hope that you are able to take a moment to review both the new policy and statement below (available currently in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese) and are as enthusiastic as we are to carry out the mission of Art+Feminism together.

We dedicate each quarter to one of the themes (Wikigap, Human rights, Czech Wiki Photo and Czechoslovakia 48'-89') and connect them with activities across educational, community and partnership programs. This means a series of activities - a competition for the experienced community and newcomers, editathons, educational events for seniors and students and support of partners across the topic - public institutions and NGOs. This brings concentration on different target groups, but also PR potential and connecting the efforts of the entire team and the community.

THE PROBLEM: We often hear of features, functionality and improvements that the Community wants which have already been implemented. This tells us that we need to do a better job of announcing and socializing the user experience improvements we release. IDEA: Make short, shareable videos of new features and improvements. The Community Wishlist Survey is an annual survey that allows contributors to the Wikimedia projects to propose and vote for tools and platform improvements. Have you ever needed to see an improvement in the functionality of the Wiki software? Do you have an idea for a new tool to make the platforms more usable and functional? Do you want to support someone else's idea for such an improvement? Participating in the Survey is just the way to make that happen. By participating in the Community Wishlist Survey, you can affect what platform changes the Community Tech, a Wikimedia Foundation team is working on. You can also work with the Community Tech to build these tools.

Wishlist
The creation of the Community Tech team is a direct outcome of requests from core contributors for improved support for moderation tools, bots, and the other features that help the Wikimedia projects succeed. This survey process was developed by Wikimedia Deutschland's Technical Wishes team, who run a wishlist survey on the German-language Wikipedia. In November, 2015, Community Tech conducted the first Community Wishlist Survey, to help identify the features and fixes that are most important to Wikimedia editors. The team invited contributors from all Wikimedia projects to submit proposals. After two weeks of collecting proposals, the team asked them to vote on the proposals they were most interested in. The process has been repeated every year since and it has been an integral part of staying connected with the Communities to support Knowledge as a Service and Knowledge equity. It is strongly related to the #2 and #4 Recommendations in Movement Strategy.
