Introducing Baserow 1.27: a wrap-up of all the work the development team has done in the last 2 months. Upgrade to the new version and enjoy:
Let’s dive into what’s new:
We’ve optimized Baserow’s performance, resulting in loading and importing times up to 6 times faster for tables with formula fields. The improvement reduces some table operations—like row creation, modifying and deletion—from over a minute to under a second. This is most noticeable when formulas reference other formulas. It also speeds up import work for formula-containing tables by 6 times. With Baserow, you can scale your data without compromising speed or performance.
Unleash your creativity with the Application Builder’s new styling options. You can now customize Table and Input elements, allowing you to create more personalized interfaces for your Baserow data.
To customize the theme settings, click the three dots next to the application name and select Settings. In the modal that appears, navigate to the Theme section. Choose the appropriate tab to begin configuring the appearance of Table or Input elements.
You can now sync your Baserow Calendar View with external calendar applications. This feature keeps your data up-to-date across platforms, whether you’re managing project deadlines, scheduling events, or tracking important dates.
To sync to an external calendar, go to the Calendar View, click on Share view, and choose the option Sync to an external calendar. Then, paste the provided link into your calendar application.
Baserow now supports joining data via the API, allowing you to retrieve and combine information from multiple tables in a single API call. This feature works with any existing link to table fields, enabling dynamic lookups without creating a lookup field. However, you still need to set up the link to table field that hold the relationships. The query parameter should look like this ?{link_row_field}__join={target_field},{target_field2}
. More information can be found in the API docs list_database_table_rows endpoint.
Baserow now offers an official Helm chart for simplified Kubernetes deployment. This chart streamlines the installation process, making it easier to set up and manage Baserow in containerized environments. For detailed instructions on how to use the Helm chart, refer to the documentation.
The new row select modal improves the user experience by allowing multiple row selection, keyboard navigation, and instant search-as-you-type functionality. These enhancements enable you to quickly select linked rows, boosting productivity and saving your time.
You can now change the Primary field in your table. Select a different field as the main identifier for your table, adapting to evolving data structure needs.
To change the primary field, go to the field you want to make primary and click on the field options. Select Change primary field, then pick the new field from the dropdown menu.
This feature allows you to apply filters to text-based lookup fields, making it easier to find specific information across related tables.
You can now create two types of hierarchy using the Repeat element:
By nesting collection elements, you can display a list of departments, each containing a nested list of employees, or to create an e-commerce store.
To add a Repeat element, first click on Elements in the top bar. Then, select Element + in the lower left corner of the popup. Alternatively, you can add an element by clicking on the plus icon +
on the page. From the menu of available options, choose the Repeat element.
As part of our overall rebranding, we’ve revamped the dashboard and left sidebar. The new user experience offers a more intuitive layout, featuring:
