Structuring your data is one of the most—if not the most—important things you’ll do in a database.

As your data grows, you might find optimization opportunities for your database. This could come in many forms, such as:

  • Consolidating tables
  • Removing or modifying fields
  • Changing relationships and links between tables

Amidst optimizing your data structure, you might find a field that’s better suited to be the primary field.

Though it’s still possible to change primary fields by copying and pasting, changing field types, and finally rearranging fields, it’s now easier than ever to change the primary fields.
