At Baserow, we’re building one of the most exciting products in software: an AI-powered open-source no-code platform that gives users the power to create databases, internal tools, and workflows without writing code, while still giving them the flexibility, control, and extensibility that traditional no-code products often take away.
We believe software should be powerful and easy to use. It should feel fast, elegant, and flexible. It should let teams build real solutions themselves, without running into arbitrary limits, vendor lock-in, or the downsides of closed-source platforms. That’s why Baserow combines a great user experience with a deeply extensible product, full data ownership, self-hosting capabilities, and an open-source foundation. We care deeply about speed, quality, and shipping — and we’re building for people who do too.
Baserow started as a side project by our founder and CEO Bram, a software engineer who built the product from scratch in the early days. Today, we’re a remote-first team working across 12 countries, still building with the same ambition: create the open no-code platform people actually want to build on. We don’t have an office, and we never will. We’re venture-backed by leading European investors including Inkef, firstminute capital, Seedcamp, and Frontline.
What you’ll do
As a Product Engineer at Baserow, you’ll work across the whole stack to build product features end-to-end. This is not a role where you only implement tickets. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of complete features - from understanding the user problem and translating UI designs into polished product experiences, to building backend architecture, shipping frontend functionality, and iterating based on feedback.
You’ll work closely with the rest of the engineering team, but you’ll also be expected to think independently, move fast, and care deeply about the product itself. The best Product Engineers at Baserow don’t just write code - they understand customers, the business, and what makes a feature successful.
We’re looking for someone who
- Lives in Europe and is fluent in English
- Has strong experience with PostgreSQL, Python/Django, and Vue/Nuxt
- Has experience with no-code tools such as Baserow, Airtable, n8n, or Glide
- Enjoys working across the full stack, from backend to frontend
- Has 10+ years of experience building scalable software
- Has a master’s degree in a relevant field
What we expect
- You’ve developed features from initial requirements through production deployment and monitored their adoption afterward
- You’d rather ship a working prototype and iterate than wait until every detail is perfectly defined
- You proactively seek feedback early, you share prototypes, discuss rough implementations, and validate direction
- You care about deadlines and adjust scope proactively to ship on time; half a feature shipped today can be more valuable than a perfect feature shipped weeks later
- You care about quality and long-term maintainability, but know how to balance that against shipping speed
- You engage constructively in architectural discussions, you can defend your choices without turning every disagreement into a debate over minor details
- You think about scalability in terms of data volume and API traffic
- You’re willing to throw away code when requirements change, the architecture turns out to be wrong, or new insights point in a better direction
You’ll be successful in this role if
- You like to get things done and ship features
- You take initiative, communicate clearly, and keep momentum by involving others at the right moments
- You understand that code is a means to an end: the goal is a product users love, not preserving every implementation decision
You’re not a fit if you
- Need every detail specified before you start building, we’d rather you ship a rough prototype and iterate
- Avoid architectural discussions, or turn each one into a debate over minor details instead of focusing on what moves the product forward
- Treat deadlines as suggestions — we adjust scope to ship on time, not timelines to ship everything
- Either ignore code quality entirely or use it as an excuse never to ship
- Prefer to work in isolation for long periods without sharing progress or seeking feedback

How we work
We like engineers who can own meaningful product work from start to finish. At Baserow, full-stack ownership matters: one person should be able to build a big feature from scratch, without unnecessary handoffs, so we can move fast without sacrificing code quality. We care about clean implementation, strong UX, thoughtful technical decisions, and shipping improvements that matter to users.
We value people who make progress visible. That means discussing tradeoffs early, sharing rough prototypes, validating direction before polishing everything, and making pragmatic scope decisions to get the right things into users’ hands quickly.
