Baserow in 2025: A Look Back

Baserow 2025: Year in Review

Baserow started as an open-source no-code database. Today, with Baserow 2.0, it has grown into a full data collaboration platform with a Database Builder to structure data, an Application Builder to turn data it into tools and an Automations Builder to create workflows and eliminate manual work. All this with a powerful AI assistant that turns every prompt into a solution tailored to your process.

This release is the first “all-in-one” AI-powered no-code platform available as SaaS and self-hosted, with an open-source license.

Throughout the year, we shipped more than 100 new features, grew our community, expanded our partner network, and continued supporting teams across many industries who rely on Baserow in their daily work.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Let’s take a look at the main highlights:

2025 in Adoption

User growth

Baserow saw 2.3× user growth, reaching a total of 150,000 active SaaS users.

Industries with the strongest adoption

  • Manufacturing
  • Technology
  • Research & Education
  • Public Sector & Defense

What Baserow users built in 2025

This year, we saw more teams using Baserow to run day-to-day operations. Across thousands of workspaces, users built systems to track tasks, campaigns, incidents, risks, assets, and capture data ranging from clinical trials to manufacturing processes. Some notable solutions our users built include:

  • GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools
  • Manufacturing incident and task management workflows
  • School reporting systems and student case management tools
  • Legal and finance task management applications
  • Marketing campaign performance tracking

Many teams replaced spreadsheets entirely and began using Baserow as the central place to organise data, manage work, and keep information in sync.

2025 in Product: Baserow 2.0

The highlight of this year was the launch of Baserow 2.0, which introduced two major capabilities our community has been waiting for:

  • Automations Builder (beta) — Create workflows that react to changes in your data using triggers, actions, router nodes, conditions, formulas, and variables.
  • Kuma AI Assistant — Chat with Kuma to build tables, write formulas, configure automations, and search the documentation in plain language.

Together, these two additions make it possible to build consistent workflows, reduce manual work, and integrate AI into everyday processes — all without leaving Baserow.

Baserow 2.0 also reached the Top 10 Product of the Day on Product Hunt — a great moment for everyone who helped shape this release.

2025 in Community

Community and collaboration continued to play a central role in Baserow this year.

A growing community of contributors

We now have 27 Baserow Ambassadors supporting users locally, sharing knowledge, organising meetups, and helping others get started. Our community forum had 1,000+ new discussions this year, becoming an active place for questions, ideas, and real-world examples.

Creators shaping the ecosystem

This year, community creators published 150+ videos about Baserow — tutorials, walkthroughs, integrations, and full workflows. It’s been incredible to see so many people teaching and sharing how they build with the platform.

Baserow Academy

With the launch of the Expert course, all three Academy paths — Fundamentals, Advanced, and Expert — are now available. Together, they form a complete learning track from first steps to enterprise deployment.

Partners and collaboration

Our partner network grew to 20+ partners across consulting, deployment, training, and integration. Together, we hosted several joint sessions with partners and customers throughout the year, helping more teams adopt Baserow in production environments.

Awards and recognition

In 2025, Baserow continued to receive strong ratings and industry recognition. This year, we were featured in:

  • Capterra Shortlist 2025
  • Software Advice FrontRunners 2025
  • GetApp Category Leaders 2025
  • Capterra Best Value 2025

We also maintained high user ratings across major review platforms, including Capterra (4.7), Software Advice (4.7), and GetApp (4.7).

Moving from GitLab to GitHub

We migrated Baserow’s development to GitHub. We remain supporters of GitLab’s mission, but GitHub offers greater visibility, easier collaboration, and a contribution workflow familiar to most open-source developers.

10,000-strong community

Across all platforms, our community reached 10,000 people — a meaningful milestone and a sign of how quickly the ecosystem around Baserow is growing.

Looking ahead: 2026 and beyond

In 2026, Baserow will continue to evolve into the most secure and open all-in-one platform to build databases, applications, and workflows powered by AI. Our focus will be on:

  • Security first: more advanced user management and security features to support data and AI governance and compliance
  • Integrations and partnerships: hundreds of integrations to make it easier to connect Baserow to existing tools
  • Automations: scaling, custom code/scripts, and better handling of large datasets
  • AI: Kuma will build apps, dashboards, and AI agents for you
  • Application Builder: more interactivity, real-time updates between databases and apps, and magic link sign-in
  • Administration and homepage: simpler, more intuitive workspace and user management at scale
  • Database: SSO for Cloud, support for 1M records in Cloud, and continued performance improvements
